My first post

I am new to this site. I have been using big block fords in my boats for 16 years now.

Currently putting the final touches on my latest project, a 36 foot Cigarette with 2 604s with A heads.

They are 8.9 to 1 and make 874 HP at 6400 on 91 octane. I am extremely proud to have very stout endurance Fords in a world dominated by BBC.

I developed my own mounting system using a front plate and custom bellhousing. My friend and casting mentor, AT Francis currently markets my front cover as I have a day job and he is extremely qualified to cast, machine, package and distribute the covers.

I went with A heads because it was the best head I could use and still get water jacketed stainless headers made.

Still trying to find the way to post pictures.

I have no idea how to post a image on this website but they do it all the time. Welcome to the site, you will not find a better group of people than you will find here and the knowledge base for the 385 series engine is #1. If you have any questions, there is someone on here that will have a answer. Someone will tell you how to post a picture soon I am sure. Looking foward to seeing the boat....

First off: Holy Crap. Monster boat!

Welcome 385! These guys are the real deal. Everytime I log in I walk away smarter and feeling stupider than everyone else here.

Sounds like you have a lot to contribute.
There are some real serious Jetboaters here
Look for Paul Kane and BlownHallet

To post pics.
Set up an acct at www.photobucket.com. Its free.
Upload your pics.
Highlight the URL below it
Go back to your 469ford Forum window and click the IMG button twice.
Past your copied URL in between the IMGs

eg:

Click preview to see if it worked.
Then submit if its OK

www.imageshack.us is another free host but there is no archive or multiple uploads (or sign in).
I like having my pix hosted so I can use them on other forums at later dates without another upload.

Note*
You may wish to resize your images to about 11" x proportional x 72DPI in Photoshop or some other program.
Photobucket I believe will give a thuimbnail size in case you cannnot resize yourself.

I will have to resize some more pictures later.

All the stainless is getting the final polish. Should have it back soon.

Remember guys, you can probably count on one hand the number of Ford powered offshore boats. I have done 3 and the latest has been such a huge project, it will be my last for a while.

You can only imagine how many times I have told I was crazy to just not use the industry standard GM motors.

Labor of love......labor of love.
