Hey, I'm actually agreeing with something you post! I remember when I brought a little swiss army knife to school for "show and tell" when I was in 1st grade because I thought it was a neat little contraption. The only reason I remember it is because the teacher flipped out, called my parents, and we all sat down and talked to some stupid counselor. Luckily that was in 1985-86. Today I'd probably be locked up in some juvy home far, far away. And I snapped a few bras back in 6th grade. I suppose that's now sexual assault. Heh, I remember going to a movie with my 8th grade girlfriend (I was in 8th, she was in 7th). I put my hand on her leg during the film and she didn't seem to mind. Next day at baseball practice word was going around that I sexually assaulted her. I thought it was a joke that was taken wrong and just a confusion. Nope, she only talked to me once more and that was to say that I was lucky that she wouldn't be charging me with anything. Whew! I feel sorry for whoever ended up with her (prob in jail for nothing). I haven't checked around much to verify this stat, but supposedly the U.S. has about 5% of the world's population but over 25% of the world's prison population. Per capita we have more people in jail than Russia. Sad, sad stuff. Can't sneeze the wrong way anymore.

I had to an instructional speech in highschool (82)

Did how to clean a shotgun.
It was a school with a lot of farm kids.
No big deal.

I can't even imagine what would happen now.

My 1st girlfriends mom walked in on us and she had no shirt on.
I think I got off lucky. She only threatened to kill me.

I'd probably be registered as a preditor these days.

Now thats funny  I graduated high school in 1980 in a medium sized SW New Mexico town. We still had rifles in the gun racks with no problems. Its not that way anymore (8' tall chain link fence with razor wire around the perimeter  ).

When I was in high school there were lots of guys who would go deer or turkey hunting before school while the season was open and then store a 30-06 in their car all day long no big deal and I can't remember anybody saying anything about it either. Nobody was ever hurt but I bet they can't do that now, too bad....

I also graduated in 1980. I had borrowed 2 of my dads shot guns (I lived with my mom) and I brought them to school on graduation night, in the parking lot apx. 300 feet from the front door I opened my truck and took them out and gave them to him. He surprised me by opening his trunk and giving me a new one for a grad. gift.
What would happen today if they saw two guys pulling guns out of their trunks at a school function of any sort?

deerhunter would have made all the nightly news with that one. it is a shame that we are losing our freedoms to do and act as we want because of fears that people might think the worst and call police. dont even think of raising your voice at your kids in public your instantly a bad parent, your not even safe to take your kids and there friends anywhere without 2 adults there. seen on tv a guy was blamed for touching a young daughters friend on a ride home when it was all over tv and newspapers then girl admitted she only said it because she was mad because she was in a home where the father had left and she said her friend had a good dad and she was jelous. now a days you have to think before you do or say anything.

and now the dems are in control and want to save everyone from themselves. Sometimes I think natural selection is a good thing. Course I'd probably be dead too. Hmmnn... Anyway, the real problem, agree or not, is that our nation is getting away from God, pure and simple. It's not the American Way anymore to believe that there is a higher power and that we owe thanks for the many priveleges we have. Well, sorry for the rant. God bless everyone.
