Clevite 77 Cam

My Son got a Clevite 77 cam for a 302 in some swap stuff. It is part# 229-2077. Does anyone have any experience with these? Is this basically a stock replacement cam? Does Clevite publish technical information for their cams?

Glenn

Glenn thanks for the info.

Well those events are not stock, and it's a split duration cam. I didn't even know that Clevite made cams, and have not been able to come up with much information. I'm trying to figure out if it would be worth using, and if so what valve springs to use.

Thanks,
James

Clevite/TRW both carry "performance" cams of some sort. Not very expensive items. For a spring, I'd run anything from Crane that is speced for an equivalent cam. Probably a single w/damper set about 110 seat pressure would do it fine.

That cam is a hydraulic flat tappet with 214/224 @ .050, .472/.496 on a 112 C/L.

Info from http://clevite.ca/publications/EK-20-05.pdf at the bottom of page 32.
