Eddyville Raceway Park at Eddyville, Iowa is a great 1/8 th mile track and is about 80 miles from Des Moines. Cedar Falls Raceway is in Cedar Falls,Iowa and is 1/4 mile and is operated by the same folks as Eddyville.
Tri State Raceway is in Earlville,Iowa and is all concrete for the full 1/4 mile. Has a quick 16 program and is very racer friendly. Both Cedar Falls and Earlville are within two and three hours away. You'll like the atmosphere, very laid back and friendly. Also have an 1/8th mile track at Pacific Junction,Iowa, just south of Council Bluffs on I29. All tracks I've mentioned are NHRA sanctioned. Hope this helps and feel free to pm with any questions. Do a search, I believe they all have websites. Welcome to the cornpatch! Nevs

You said "a better place", I thought you'd died.

Some people can break a cannon ball, in a sand box, with their bare hands.

What's bringing you to Des Moines? I have lived in Iowa my whole life never in Des Moines though. You will like it here, plenty of good jobs and a really decent cost of living and a little bit more relaxed lifestyle. Another track I will mention is in Cordova Illinois it is on the Mississippi just north of Davenport Iowa about 3 hours from Des Moines. It is also a NHRA track and hosts alot of big events. A new thing this year is a 10 race series called the "MIdwest Bracket Alliance" with races to be held at Cedar Falls, Eddyville, and Cordova with two classes basically box/no box. The winner of each class gets 15,000+ worth of racing stuff for their car. Anyways good luck. Heres a link about the "MBA" http://cordovadragwaypark.com/2007/n...a-update1.html

Another track

Hi. Welcome to the crossroads of I-35 and I-80.I live 15 miles north of Des Moines and am only 45 minutes from Indianola.hey just built a new Nascar track at Newton, about 25 miles east of Des Moines and they are going to be running a test and tune/grudge race program. Street tires only and limits on how fast you can go. 1/8 mile.May be kinda fun. When are you moving and what do you do? Have a job yet?
