Plumbing Questions

I had my hydroboost unit brought to me, so I did not get to see how it was hooked up in the origional truck and where all the lines hooked to...

Now one question- there is a connection that comes out the top of the unit, kind of pointing outward toward the drivers side a little, this had a connection similar to the stock steering box's high pressure inlet fitting.
There is another one of these that is on the passenger side of the hydro unit, IIRC pointing down al little but still outward toward the pass. side, again more or less w/ a fitting like the first.
Finall, there is a third connection on top, this one has a hose-barb nipple looking fitting in it that had a regular rubber hose connected to it. THe yard guys just cut the hoses, so I don;t know where they go to...

I am suspecting one of the screw in fittings gets high pressure in directly from the pump, the other screw-in fitting is a high-pressure out that goes on to the powersteering box, and the nipple is a low pressure return that has to be tee'd into the return to the resovior(sp?) from the powersteering box.

Am I close?Does it matter which screew-in fitting I use for high-in and high-out(if that is indeed what they are)? Anyone know where there is a diagram of a hydroboost setup??? I have never messed w/ these things before.

Thanks in advance for the help. I'll post pictures when I get it all put in the Bronco...

On my hydro-boost that came out of a mid 80s Lincoln

The line that comes out towards the passenger side is the high pressure line from the pump.
The line that comes out the top (with the fitting) goes to the rack.
The line that comes out the top (with the nipple) goes to the tank.

They do sell special powersteering pump tanks for hydro-boost applications that have an exta nipple on them to connect the return line from the hydro-boost.

Hope this helps some.

That helps alot, thanks. Exactly what I needed.

I figured that's how it went, I just didn;t know if it mattered which high-pressure port I used for an "in" or an "out".

Thanks.
