I mentioned during the Tech Seminar that we had some heavy hitters there. We started counting up the number of Engine Masters Challenge engine builders and we had Jon Kaase, Scotty Johnston, Mike Phillips, Adney Brown, Randy Malik and Dave McLain.
I appreciate all those that shared info with us and I thank Jon for bringing the IHRA Hemi heads and getting there in time for the Sunday morning seminar. I think Randy overheard Jon say he was having fun and wished he had been there for all three days. He said something about bringing his own personal pick-up truck that hadn't been out of the garage in over 10 years and coming back next year.
As long as we can maintain the family reunion atmosphere, the home away from home feeling, where everybody was helping everybody else out, it will succeed. Things like Texas Roadhouse catering the Friday night dinner for all of us, or the Bozelle's from Lousiana bringing up crawfish and having a tailgate party for everybody, or the fact that after the Grudge Match on Saturday night, when I went over and paid George and Wes the winner and runner-up money,,,, then George Keown turned around and gave money to Wes because they had decided to split the pot. Everybody was friendly towards each other and I think we all really appreciate it.
I especially want to thank Adney. Bobby Z. was pitted next to him and when Bobby pulled out of the pits, the side of his trailer hit the side of Adney's truck and did some damage. Bobby Z. was apologizing and was just sick about it and Adney was laid back and not upset at all. He just said accidents happen. They are both great guys with class and they got it worked out with no problems.
