Members with zero posts

This evening I was looking at the members list and noticed at least half, maybe more of the members who have signed up have a zero in the number of posts column. Do you stay a member for life or do you have to post once in a while?

Those are usually "auto-bot" posters. Its a computer program that seeks out forums like this one, and registers a whole bunch of pre-selected names all at once.
Then those phantom "users" will usually post pornographic pics or links to porn sites (Never click on anything like that because there is usually an attatchment with them that seriously wrecks your computer or its programs).

As the world turns...I get more dizzy!

I would imagine that there is a percentage of the zero posters that are people that are happy just lurking/reading the posts.

well i dont have 0 post's but what ive found is that i can use the search function and get just about all i need. that being said im on here every day lurking as you say :? i skim through all the post's to learn about the 460 and ask ?? when needed, i cant give much tech info because i dont really know much and i think thats the biggest reason for most people's low post count. i do appreciate all the knowledge that is on this board. so thank you all who do post more than others we need you.
thanx ralph

lurker..

I was a lurker for a couple of months before I started putting my foot in my mouth on a regular basis.

Where's my beer and that half inch wrench?

Looking at some of the names it is probably people that sign up then find out they are not interested in what the site has to offer. I know there has been times when I have done this on other sites.

The thing that amazes is me is that you are that bored that you are viewing the members list.

I remember once when I found the end of the internet but that was a couple years ago......

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid-in-sideways, totally worn out, shouting.."holy crap.... what a ride!"

One of those "zero posts" was the username I originally wanted, "redneckprofessor." I use it on a few other forums, and that username used the email address I always use.

I registered, and never had that name "accepted." I wrote Chilly about it when I tried a second time with this username. It's not what I the name I like (rather boring), plus I have to check an email account I seldom use. I would still rather have my "redneckprofessor" name and that first email account to use here.

I think that Chilly apparently was busy, getting married and so forth, and was maybe behind in accepting those names. Anyways, that's why I am on the "zero" list.

It's not a big deal to me. I'm no computer geek but I was just thinking about my own computer here at home and how it can run slower when the memory has more data in it. This web site runs pretty fast so I guess it's not a big deal.

Well, you are definitely right about things slowing down a lot. I think one of the other forums I use has to "clear things out" periodically for the very reasons you are talking about.

I don't post much, but read a lot. I guess it's 'cause I don't have any money to work on my ride with for the time being.
That, and I work at a racetrack with an oval track and a dragstrip, and don't have much time to do anything.
