Ford Guys; Be Proud !!!

Hey guys,

It's Memorial Day weekend and they are running the NHRA Div 3 Jegs Quick 32 Series race down at Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY. The GREAT news is that Phillip Oakley just WON the race with his BB Ford powered #1 Texas Roadhouse dragster and that the other car in the finals was Craig Sullivan (SQ34 here on the forum) in his BB Ford powered dragster. Phillip qualified with a 4.52 and the bump spot for the 32 car field was 4.61. Congratulations to both Phillip and Craig for doing us Ford fans proud.

Phillip will be running in Super Comp tomorrow with his #2 Texas Roadhouse car, so let's keep our fingers crossed. Of course that's a throttle stop deal, so he has to slow it down a big bunch. The #2 car has Lem's 604 TFS A-460 headed engine in it, and Lynn Ellison drove the car to victory on Saturday at our recent BB Ford Bash.

Later,

Charlie Evans

That makes us happy!

Where did you race last night Randy? You've been having a good racing season this year haven't you? Check your PM box.

I was with the Lawyers (black dragster) yesterday and we were talking about you. They've heard the stories about the famous School Bus Motor!

Later,
Charlie

I sent you back a pm Charlie. We raced at Great river road raceway in Dyersburg ,Tn. I am just tickled with my car it has been raced 3 times and had 2 semi final finishes and a runner up and we are still tuning on the 4 link. I am very confident it will get into the 5.50's only like about 1/2 a tenth getting there now. You should see peoples reaction when they come by looking at the car and ask "what size motor is that" and I say 466  . I had a guy ask last night are those a - 460 heads , I said no those are the street heads and out of the box also.
Tell Phillip and Lynn I said good Job and keep the fords on top .

Ray, yes it did help the car picked up about 5 hundreths, but the car is still spinning a bit . It picked the front tires up about 1/2 " but did not pack them far. I know I need lighter front springs on my struts. I have got them adjusted all the way down and got about 3/4" of the shaft showing. I think I could run 80 lb springs in the back too , I got 95 lbs on now. I am just changing one thing at a time, but I will probably move the ic out to 51". I wish they would get my local track done so I could go to tnt, they resurfaced it and made a mess out of it and it will have to be completely redone again.

Thanks guys, we had a great weekend. Lem looks like we added another category of winning to the boat motor. Thanks Charlie for all your help. Thanks to Quick Fuel for the great fuel system on and off the throttle stop. Stanley at Tci for all his help with our convertors. Tim Murphy for your help with our headers. Of course thanks to all of our sponsers and those that support our race team.

On a more personal note I would like to thank Lem and Charlie for allowing me to represent them and their products. These guys are the concrete blocks of my engine program and also two of my best friends.
