Decided on Hemi Engine Size & Picked UP A New Block

Well myself, Rick(FordTek1), David, & Ron Sykes got back from C&C Motorsports about 2 hrs ago. We had a very good talk with Carroll Carter & finally decided on what size motor we are going to build. It will be a 4.6" bore + a 5" stroke = 665. After discussing different options , we felt this would be a good set up for us. He are some pics of the new updated 11.2" Roberts Design block. I definitely have some studying up on this new block & figuring out all the oiling holes. Got to figure out how a dry sump is plumbed in. :? Oh well, I will have plenty of time. It still will take me a month of Sundays to get everything I need. But at least I am one step closer. If anybody needs a wedge motor, give me a shout...

The new updated blocks have the bosses for the extra head bolt holes plus it has the drain backs for both hemi & wedge heads. No more external drain lines to use a wedge head.

Randy, do you see that etching... Well wait to you see my handy work on the other side. I am going to etch "Fancy Chris". Just for you buddy!!

I believe the large threaded hole here is for a dry sump scavenge line. If somebody knows different, please chime in.

I really dont know what this threded hole by the distributer is for. It passes through the 2 oil galleys.Anybody got a clue on this one??

Chris,
Nice looking block. That back one is where I have one of my scavenge lines hooked up. Think the one by the dist. was needed to drill down for oil gally connection.

Randy (Cougar1969), I will be glad to send it to you for 3 easy payments of alot of $$$. Just like Ronco...

Jon, all cutting, grinding, sanding, polishing, burning, machini ng, & general BS will be complete before I take any belts out. Just want to be safe. Remember who I am dealing with (me  )

Dave, Rick is correct. Carroll said it is about 100 lbs lighter. I have a set of medical scales & want to weigh it. My A block out of the box was right at 300 lbs & my stock block bored .080 was about 215 lbs. I will definitely post the weight when I get it.

TorinoStyle2, All I can say buddy is call 703-368-7878 & tell Carroll to send you one.. He will be more than willing .

Devildog, Yeah it's big enough. We talked about a 632 but for the difference in price of the cranks, it was a better buy going with the 5". Plus I like alot of cubic inches , alot of torque, & low rpms.

Randy(KyMustang), dude the purple is a good idea!! I like it !! As far as a grudge match next year, it may have to be against my 04 Civic  I have definitely fired up my hemi fever now. So I think after FFW this month, I am seriously going to try & sell my wedge motor to speed up the hemi build.

Ron(BBstick) yeah me & Rick were messing with David & Ron about that. They still can't get over the fact that 500 isn't considered big anymore. I guess it is a Mopar thing.[/quote]

If you think the block is awesome by itself, you should go to Mr. Carter's shop and have a look around. Maybe he'll tell you about the hemi with a compression ratio of 8.0 to 1 that put down 907HP on the dyno  And this was BEFORE the turbo's were installed.
