Schubeck Racing out of Business?

I ordered a set of lifters from Schubeck Racing online on 9/20/07. I tried calling today to see if they shipped yet and got a recording and no forwarding number. Anyone order any thing from him lately?

I heard, about 6 months ago, that he is gone. Hope you didn't send any bux.

Some people can break a cannon ball, in a sand box, with their bare hands.

Looks like he is out of business. I did use my credit card and ordered from his site. I hope I don't loose my $655.00. You would think that he would take his site down if he is gone. I got this conformation from a guy that use to work for him....

Bad news on the Schubeck deal. I went by the shop, and it is mostly empty. There are 3 mexicans tearing out the dyno room (or what was left of it), and a big pile of trash & junk in the center of the building.

Not a trace of the equipment, or the business. Nothing. None of the neighbors speak enough english to tell me how long it has been gone, but the landlord is just cleaning out the "improvements" Schubeck left behind.

I will check some more to see if it was a move or a bankruptcy. I hope your friend did not pay up front.

Brad

Have you talked to your credit card company yet?

I believe most of them will credit your account if you explain what is going on.

Well I used my Credit Card, but some how his site is connected to PayPal. I didn't want to use PayPal and I thought that by using my Credit Card I would be covered. But even though I used my credit card it still went through PayPal. So beware if the invoice says "This Credit Card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL *(Merchant name)" this is going through PayPal and not your credit card company. I just learned this today.

My Credit Card company wants me to go through PayPal and see if they (PayPal) will resolve it. The only thing is PayPal only covers the first $200.00 unless it was thru EBay. I guess I will end up eating $455.00.

I feel better now. I called the Credit Card company and the charge is in "Dispute" now so I will not be charged for the transaction. I sure am glad I used my Credit Card instead of going directly through PayPal. Note to self NEVER USE PAYPAL TO PAY SOMEONE.

Good tip on not using Paypal. I just had a couple checks bounce because I sold some heads on ebay and the guy payed with paypal. It had been a while since I sold anything, but last time I had, the money went straight to my bank account from Paypal. Not so anymore, you have to tell Paypal to put it in your bank account and it's limited to $500 per month unless you upgrade your account. So yeah, my bank sent back some checks so I'm sure I'll have some fines to pay for that. And of course Paypal floats the money during the time it takes you to tell them to transfer it to your bank so Paypal makes interest off it in that time period. Bastards...
