Sure sounds like it's republican biased. As bad as bush and cheny have F#@&$D up I sure wouldn't admit I was one of the 11% that still support the republican way of thinking!!! I also remember that employment for the 'working man' was pretty lean during the reagan years. Maybe that's the reason reagan is the poster child for the republican party.
NO THANKS!

I will look it over looks interesting. Thank GOD for Ronald Reagan/GOD Bless America!!!

As for those whom don't approve that's your right which I will defend. Just don't try to take my voice cause you don't like what I say. That seems to be the current tactics of the other side.

The English summed it up well,"Don't PISS down MY back and tell me it's raining" :!:

Gee, how did you retire from the iron workers if work was so lean in the day? Oh, let me guess your spilling the Democrat/Union line. It was good for you but, "the middle man suffered during the Reagan years". Do you remember "Carter"? Let's see, I believe he said "our best years are behind us", oh and by the way turn your heat down to 68* to conserve. By the time Reagan took over interest was in the upper teens I believe and climbing. So President Reagan had a lot of repairing to do and that was with a democratic congress to work with.

Fast forward...What's your answer...Hillary??? So she can socialize health care and give every child born 5000 of yours and my hard earned income? Maybe while she's at it her and the socialist, I mean democrat congress can shut up the "right wing" talk shows too!

11%??? Where did you pull that out of..."moveon.org", Michael Moore or the mighty democrat party? Again!

Later, Bret

It always seems those left wingers are the most uninformed people in America. I am a Conservative not Republican unlike most of the left wingers I vote on the person not always on if there is a R or D beside their name. I am also not a Bush apologists. He has done some really stupid stuff. But like Bret said what is the answer. Hillary is a huge joke. Universal Tax care has been proven time and time again to be a complete failure. I like being able to drive straight to a Dr.'s office or the ER or Hospital and receive services whereas in universal health there is not such thing as instant medical care. As old as you seem to be Gt300D God hope you do not have a heart attack if she gets into office, because if so the Lord better heal you quick because that ER coverage you would get in a free market would be gone. Also 5000 for each child sounds great except for the fact that with the taxes she levies on EVERYONE I would spend more than the 5000 on taxes. I make less than 30k a year and my wife a little less with one 6 year old. My taxes now would go up about 8% from what they are now with her plans. I wish they would just leave me alone.

P.S Unions are becoming the death of GM and Ford. Thats why Nissan, Toyota, etc are able to come over here and settle their plants in America. They can say they build their cars here but do not have to follow the same rules as GM and Ford do. Its what is becoming the death sentence for the automakers that helped shape what America was and has become.

Socialism almost bankrupt Europe,so why will it work here?

I don't believe in Homosexuality, however I don't say we should deport them. The left wants to make it law that saying this (Chosen Behavior/Deathstyle) is wrong is a crime. To say its immoral/unhealthy to be Homosexual would be punishable by jail time and fines. Now thats Tolerance/multiculturalism at it's best

Where is the ACLU on this? Of course on the wrong side again!

I'm somewhat with you on that. Left wingers may seem to be the most uninformed, but they also tend to be the most educated. Go figure. I suppose it's because they need lots of schooling to overcome their lack of common sense. I also don't care if a candidate is Dem or Republican. I never thought I'd vote for a Republican, but I think Ron Paul is someone I'd like. I don't know if socialism almost bankrupted Europe, but wars have cost them dearly. (I guess that's a response to the post after yours) It's cost us a lot too lately. I can't remember the figures of what it costs to equip one person in combat today compared to WWII (adjusted for inflation) but it's a HUGE difference. The thing with this current war/conflict is not costing us $$$ right now, it's being borrowed so our grandchildren will have to worry about it. I just hope that Bush's plans for control of the oil regions pays for the costs of securing it. He may seem dumb, but I have a hard time believing a true idiot would get to where he is right now. I think the reason he seems stupid is because he can't tell the truth. Like I said, I just hope it's worth it.

The unions may be the death of GM and Ford as we're familiar with them, but I see it more as a natural progression. China is already not the hotspot it once was for cheap labor. There's industrialization which brings poor working conditions, cheap labor, cheap products... which outcompete nations which already went through that phase. Then there's more and more workers' rights, expectations for a higher state of living... and the industrial explosion dies down as the money goes elsewhere. Western europe did it, we did it, and now Asia is doing it. When all cheap, exploitable labor is gone, that'll be an interesting time. Maybe by then we'll find outter space aliens willing to work for pennies and we can keep the cycle going.

It really has nothing to do with cheap labor. Sorry but labor unions cost so much to the average amount it cost to buy a domestic car nowadays. Sorry but its true. Nissan and Toyota do not have to deal with the same things that hold are companies back today. I work with insurance guess what Nissan is through us and they have much better benefits than even I do working through the insurance company. They do not worry about unions because guess what you want to join one you can also lose your job. There are over 2,000 applications of those waiting to work for them as we speak. They treat their employees right but just like most companies when someone retires they do not have the greatest benefits known to man. I myself lose all my benefits when I retire and again I work for the insurance company. I have two friends that went to work for Nissan that had absolutely no higher education that are making 20+ an hour there. They have it made as long as they keep their nose clean and keep working. Its those type of companies that get the best productivity compared to those that if they don't like their current union contract they walk picket lines and expect to be paid handsomely for it.

Also I agree with you on Ron Paul he does seem to be a pretty good candidate that would like to restore the state rights that we once had before Lincoln started the downward trend. Government has gotten to big and will only get bigger with Hillary or many of the others out there running it. Cannot believe I have actually agreed with more than one thing with you Scott

I see your point about it not being about cheap labor. But paying a hefty retirement with lots of benefits is not much different than just paying the employees an insanely high wage while they work. I've heard plenty about how so and so's dad and grandpa worked for John Deere, Case, etc. and they got a great retirement after only working a short number of years. I guess people still expect that in a much more competitive environment now. I know I saw some statistic a while ago about how much of approximate cost of a new "domestic" vehicle goes to paying retired workers or for benefits/vacations that workers for other companies like Toyota don't receive. It's no wonder a person can buy an equal or better vehicle from Toyota/Nissan for less money than Ford/Chevy.

It's more of a case of Toyota selling a car for similiar money and actually making money doing it . After considering rebates etc , the domestics are cheaper in some cases .
