Probably, the heim broke and didnt have the safety strap. Have seen it happen before, NHRA mandates a safety strap on ladder bars to prevent this.

If you freeze frame it at about 23 seconds into the vid, it looks like the ladder bar brackets tore loose from the rear housing. Good thing he wasn't running 100 mph when it happened. I'm sure he thought it was the awesome power of his super chevy that did the damage. :roll:

Just think guys... you might line up next to a guy with similar welding abilities some day. :shock:
