Ran the 4x4,

Ran my 78 half ton 4x4 at the track just for fun yesterday, off the trailer not knowing what it would do, ran a 13.0 at 104mph. I think I could get it in the 12's with some tunning. Didn't really get to run much befor it started raining. But it was fun anyway! I have some video if I can find out to post it. Pat

Its a .030 over 460 around 11.5:1 with tfs streets, victor and a dommy. I think the headers are holding it back a little when it starts to go over 6000 rpm it sounds like its fighting to get the air out of the 1.75 in. header and the three chamber flowmasters. Pat.

bob's is pretty cool.it's alot different than the strip at silver lake.i think sunday we're going to the swap meet at the fairgrounds.it's usually all left turn stuff but sometimes we find something useful there.

what gears do you have in your truck?i've got 4:88's and i think i'm going to put 56's in this spring.could you launch it hard or was it spinning bad?

We need to get together in the spring and do this stuff, when my junk is back together that is.
Thats some pretty good ET Pat, for something that heavy I'd be happy.
61mph is a real good MPH for 300 Norm, I bet you could go low 5.20s with a little help.

Big Broncos for life!

Hey Mark, the truck weighs somewere around 4800 just a normal truck no dragster by no means but a decent testament of what some streets are capable of. 4.56 gears, junk 33 in. tires that you cant hook up for crap. I'll have to do some work to keep up with these red Broncos

Norm, I have to be very carefull on how you launch it. On my second run I broke the tire loose, then didnt get to run again. I short shifted going into third cause it was drifting to the outside a little. Just have to roll in the throttle nice and easy for a few feet with the crap suspension on the thing!

we went up there to run the trucks in july.first time i launched it ,it was instantly on the limiter, pedaled it a couple times and eased into it and ,twang, broke a axle.they were 31 spline stranges too.couldn't believe it.art got his blue step side, with the 521 with a turbo, down to a 13.1 at 112.he had like a 2.6 60ft.soon as the boost came on he would blow the tires off it.

i think if we are going to sand drag much i'm going to try and find some super scoops.i like the 2000's for the dunes because they don't get torn up driving on the road going in.

Pat,Great times for a 4,800 lb truck.

I had a 78 LTDII with a 466 in it that ran 13.20's at 4,420 lbs.I had alot of fun with that car drive 50 miles each way to the track race and drive back home.It was pretty impressive for a dished piston 9.5 to 1 compression 466 with slightly ported DOVE-C Heads.

Later Mark.
