rewiring a 1963 ford galaxie

I decided that I wanted to rewire my galaxie because some things stopped working and the wiring plastic was cracking. I have decent skills working with electricity wiring, so I attempted it on my own. I ran into a problem with the headlight switch. I still can figure out why the front park and rear taillights are not working with the switch. I have everything connected to where the instructions tell me. The headlights turn on, but not the other lights. when I touch the taillight wire and front park light wires to the dimmer power wire they turn on along with the head lamps. Is my switch broken then, I tried another switch and it is the same problem. All the fuses were changed, and they work. I don't want to wire the park light and taillights wire to the same wire as the head lights.
