Uzi Find

I have scoured the Net. I finally found a source for a Uzi 9MM rifle9semi-automatic).

Unfortunately can't afford it yet, will most likely be putting another $100-300 on top of the $600 I've already spent to keep my car running.

2 answers. The Uzi is supposed to be the best 9MM rifle in the world. I need a rifle to replace the 223 Deer Rifle I just sold.

"Be choosy, use an UZI".

No offense, but calling the uzi the best 9mm rifle in the world is a lot like calling the vega motor the best non-sleeved/plated aluminum block motor in the world.
I'd go buy yourself another .223 if it were me. Lots of 30-06 rifles out there too, plenty of knockdown there. Or get an SKS, good inbetween, lost cost ammo, etc. I just don't see the point of an uzi other than just conversation or to add to a collection.
My 02 cents.

I had read it was the best 9MM rifle(Period). I also figured if it was good enough for the Israeli Army its good enough for me from a defensive stand point.

I may be wrong. Just figured I'd talk yall through my logic

I'd love to have one also and they are pretty cool, but I wouldn't deer hunt with them. I guess thats where I'm confused? IF its for defense or getting your gun off, then I'd say buy two, but if its multipurpose for deer hunting, etc, then I'd say it probably won't do too good.

I like my SKS, just wish I could mount a scope on it.

I'd say the people at HK might disagree... Not only is that not a rifle, it isn't even a carbine. The MP-5 is probably the best 9MM out there... But I wouldn't hunt with one, not enough power for a clean kill on a deer. Might be fun to own, but I'd rather have an HK-SP89(they shoot very nice), but not legal here in CA.

If you want to hunt, use a proper firearm, anything else just gives ammo to the people who want to take your hunting rights away. If you want something for self defense, get something that when you plug someone you can stand up in court & they won't paint a picture of a nut just wanting to kill someone, if you want to shoot cans, that UZI would be great fun.

I have to agree with 32 Altered, nothing like and H&K MP5 especially the MP5 SD3. I got to try one out about 3 weeks ago and all I can say is WOW  ! It was amazingly quiet with integral aluminum sound suppressor. If I had the money I would get my bother to order me one.

Thats what I thought also, (Not legal for hunting). Arent the uzi's just considered an assult rifle, as far as law enforcement is concerned? I like
my 7mm Mag Remington for deer hunting. Plenty of killing power. Maybe to much for the area that I deerhunt.

An Uzi is not a rifle but more of a sub gun of some kind. I believe there is a minimum barrel length before something is considered a rifle. I know you can get an AR style "rifle" with a 16" barrel. Uzi's barrel is shorter than that. I have an XP 100 Remington pistol with a 14 7/8" barrel. So it must be somewhere in there.
