Funny Story but true!

I was in this Bass fishing tournament last July. I had heard a rumor that some big shots from Ranger would be there to throw some money at a lucky fisherman.

Well I wanted to look my best so I put on my all black Ranger suit, my black gym shoes and set out to get that sponsorship!

Somewhere around 1:00 in the afternoon I noticed people waving at me or so I thought. Everything seemed ok so I would just wave back.

Now it's about 3:00 or so and this DNR officer pulls up next to me and says "Sir, I'm here to help you". I say for what all my fish are well over 10ft!...He then says something like "Sir just keep laying right where you are and we will lift you up and out of the boat. I'm like, "Man what the hell is this" I'm just fishing these docks. ( not a dock in sight)

To make a long story short, I had passed out and was in some kind of dream world. All that damn black on and my black azz. The sun just had its way with me out there. I don't remember much from that day other than all the people waving at me. I just thought they were thinking I was a big time bass pro with all the Ranger stuff on.

When they got me to land I kept thinking I must have won the tournament and this is my police escort...

Never where all black on a lake in JULY!!

Me and my son after I came back to earth

When you see us at the bash say hi!

I was on lake Erie, but I don't recall ever fishing. I know I did fish because I had 3 dead bass in the live well. They where dead because I never put my live wells on auto. I always do it manually!

I've been delirious and passed out from too much suds, but never from the sun. That must have been a little scary. Glad your okay.

I was building fence last August (August! in Texas) because the boys that were supposed to do it for me backed out, so I was left to do it by myself. That Friday afternoon at about 2:30 I got real dizzy and almost didn't make it back to the truck. Lifting up 100+ pound creosote corner posts in 100+ degree heat and 85% humidity is not too smart. I could have done it back in highschool, but those days are over. I literally drank gallons of water and gatorade and it did not help.

Sharpen your pitchforks and light your torches... 'CHANGE' is coming!

We say grace, and we say ma'am, if you ain't into that we don't give a damn... cause a country boy can survive!

D that's a pretty good one. I've never passes out but ended up looking like a lobster once. I went to the U.S. Class Nationals in Byron, IL a few years back. It seemed pretty nice out so I wore a normal button up shirt. By noon it was smoking hot 118 degree heat index. I had the shirt opened up trying to get as much air over my chest as I could. Well anyway the sun was so bright I had spots burnt on my chest even from the button holes. I was burnt to a crisp. Never passes out, but was dang close to heat stroke. Pretty stupid at the time that's for sure. Learned one thing...Whenever I'm at a track drink nearly continuously. Getting rid of extra fluid is a heck of alot better than not having enough of it!!!
