M-16/AR-15 in .45???

I know they made a 9MM AR-15/M16 but did they ever make a .45 ACP version.

If so who made/makes it???

I was reading about a modular weapons system that assembled using AK-47 parts or AR-15/M-16 for the operating system and barrel. But everything else is prefabbed.

Any thoughts??

Don't waste your money on a 9mm AR, if you want a sub gun spend the $$$ on an HK.

I was hopeing they made a .45 Car-15 like rifle.

I would use the operating system/barel to create a new modular .45 rifle.

Like I said they aren't what I would consider high quality, I've only seen the 9mm's for the AR never a .45, and from my past experiance only the Colt 9mm Versions worked well.

Guess I'll have to spec AK-47/AK-74 parts instead.

The Thommy Gun at $1000-1500 looks better all the time.

At work we used to have a few of the Colt SMG, 9mm submachine gun, nice and never had any problems. They are alot more controllable than the .223 round on full auto. The HK MP5 is also a very nice weapon. Shot a Tommy gun once, they are VERY heavy but there's no recoil and on full auto are easy to control. Chris

Guys these are great posts.

The .45 ACP conversion link is awesome. Gives me plenty to look at/think about.
