Help Quick! Where can I recycle catalysts in S.E. MI for $$?

I need a quick reply please if you know. I have a stock Mustang H pipe with stock cats. Is there a place in S.E. MI where they pay for catalysts? Someone offered me $100 so he can recycle it. I'm wondering if I can get more if I take it to the recycler myself.

I'd like a quick response so I can let this guy know soon. Thanks.

There's 4 cats on them.

I looked briefly in the past out of curiousity and none of the scrap yards mentioned on their website specifically that they take them. I wasn't motivated enough to call until now. So, I thought I would post to see if anyone knew off hand if one specifically took cats. I'm going to make some calls this morning.

I did find one website last night that states they pay between $10 and $85 per "unit." I'm not sure what makes up a unit. But, if it is each individual cat, I can get up to $340 for it.

each converter on a mustang would be considered a small one but i would think you should be able to get more than $100 total.may want to cut the converters off the H pipe so it looks like there is more there rather than one piece.

I made some calls this morning. All but one place takes them. Half wouldn't give me a price over the phone. They would have to see them. The prices the other ones gave me ranged from $15 to $42 each. Select Metals Recycling in Ann Arbor was $42 each. I'll try them. I'll try to cut them off before heading there if I have time. If they're smart, they'll use a tape measurer and not eyeball it though.

Thanks for the replies all.
