Congrats to Colin Wigle

Hey guys,

David Bradshaw pointed out to me that our man Colin, qualified 14th overall at Norwalk out of 73 Super Stockers. Colin has a new Mustang GT/AA and runs the NHRA circuit with a 1970 429 CJ engine in it. The index is 10.40 and he ran a 9.441, which is .959 under the index. The car weighs like 3600 lbs. or something.

One of the Internet Engine Building Gurus, said he'd have to make 825 Hp in order to be competitive, well,,,,,,,we didn't make that. However, Colin did reach a more realistic expectation, and then of course he's doing an excellent job with his chassis/ convertor/ gear combo.

Again, congratulations Colin :!:

They are a collaboration project with Bret Powell doing the exhausts, and myself doing the intakes & valve job. Many of you saw the heads last year at the BB Ford Bash. Bret did all the hard work with the brazing of the exhausts. Also, I ported the TFS single plane intake which uses a 750 cfm Super Stock legal Holley carb. If anything, the engine is "carb restricted". As Bret said, it's trying to breathe through a straw.

Thanks for the kind words. and all the effort that everyone put into that engine. Just need to stop driving like an *** ops: If you look at the number one qualifier he was also GT/AA and he had me by two and a half tenths. I need to find some more HP before INDY!!

Colin,

I saw that, but that car is a new Cobalt,,,,,,,,,that's Chevy's Pro Stock body. In coefficient of drag terms, you're pushing a brick compared to him.

Anyway, good job, we're proud of you and between now and Indy you might find a little more :!:

Colin,
Nice effort. What was your best ET and MPH @ Norwalk? What was the best ET and MPH for the GM car?

He runs a LS1 that has a soft factor also the front wheel drive cars are Full blown comp cars. Long and short I need about 30 hp to get there, been working hard I will be close by INDY. The best I seen the car run was 9.19 @ 144
