Had a "pretty" good day at the track today....

Well, outside of the fact that the nitrous guys had a field day with me, (2nd, 5th, 6th runs) I got pretty fair results from the truck today after changing the frontend a couple weeks ago... I definitely need to get the rear suspension changed now... Simply just not quite enough weight transfer... I also had a problem keeping air in the rear tires and it took most of my runs to find someone that would let me use their air tank... The first run, somehow the nightshot button got switched on, but you can see my guages good...  Ran a 7.31 @ 95mph with a 1.6 60' and it was only about 68*. Then it got up to 85* with no cloud cover and the guy next to me said they checked the track temp and it was at 120*. Couple that with too little air and my 60's went down the crapper. Finally found some air, added 2# and picked right back up... Let's just say I learned a little about tire pressure today

Enjoy...

#1 pound of air can change as much as 100 lbs of weigh in a oppsite corner.. That's why Randy told me to adjust my air pressure in 1/4 flats at a time.. I also found that even tho both tires had the same air pressure.. 1 tire was 88 inches while the other tire was 87 3/4.. Crazy

good show I'll look at the vids tomorrow!

Thanks Rob, If I can get that backend to stay squatted on launch just a few more feet, I think it'll pick up a bit still... I have the solution to the launch problems, but I'd need to employ a couple others I know would show up and help gat the rearend and suspension changed out, otherwise
I'll try and finish the season the way it is and then change out the rearend and suspension... That way I have 8 months to make sure it's right and not try to beat the next race...

Thanks Pat, I still havent done any real engine tuning yet, I'm still tryin' to get it to hook better first... How's yours coming along? Hope you get some more track time soon...

Thanks Jason, it was great talking to you the other night... It's always good to chat with other forum members... Hope you can make it over soon...

Thanks Nick... It runs great... I'v been analyzing the vids, and I'm noticing that my launch RPM sounds like it varies a good bit run to run... Think I need to check my 2-step and set it at 4500 and just pin the pedal  All in all I'm still pretty happy with it. With the new front end, it drove alot more solid, with less steer going down the track...

Too bad we weren't a little closer, we could hook up and just get the rearend and suspension done and not have to worry about it 8)

Truck's an 86 and running a C6. Converter flashes about 4500
I'll have to dig up the new rule sheet, they made a few changes, so I have to read it again.

I'll look into the rules for the Quick 8 also, I tried to get in the field once and found out I was 1-1/2 sec slow... Oh well, my time's comin'

Right now I'm running a M/T ET Street 30x13.50x15. I'm running mounts, but they're solid...
