Pulled in Thayer MO last night & met Curious George

Pleasure meeting you. Great guy. His truck ran good too. Man those guys in Southern Mo(Arkansas line) are crazy about the two wheel drives. Must have been at least 40 of them.

I pulled in what they called 6200# ProStock which has the same rules as we do except they run weight bars out front of the truck, they may allow aftermarket iron heads(seemed vague on that). Anyway, I did win the class of about 15 trucks. They don't turn quite the RPM we like to up here in mid MO.

Nice trip, but 175 miles one way is too far for me. :?

It was a pleasure meeting you too. And to all who have just seen videos on here of Brett's truck they don't do it justice. It is beautiful and runs just as good as it looks.

As for me I got a 2nd in the 5800 pro stock, 6th in 6200 pro stock, and 6th in the open class that constied of 3 2wd tube chassis trucks, 2 4x4 diesels and 1 4x4 pro stock truck. I was happy with the results since this
was the first time I've ever hooked on the X-Factor sled. Our normal mid track speed
is around 14mph and in the light class I was running just over 25mph.
I had a blast and hope we see you some more next year.

Oh by the way......He didn't just win he put about 12 feet on some of our toughest trucks. Good Job.

Oh I don't know, I do a Chevy locally for a guy that I compete against(Blue 65 Chevy). The motor has more than a full season on it. It has left the line against a 9600 chip and he regularly turns it over 9000. We've only checked the lifters and replaced the springs and haven't even looked at the bottom end yet. He's just crazy and he's a friend of mine, but I frankly do not know why the motor stays together. It is a bit short of mine on horses though. Therefore the tune is not so critical. I have learned that when doing these iron headed high rpm deals, if the tune is off just by a few fractions you can loose a whole motor pretty quick and make yourself look pretty stupid.

We're going to build him a meaner one this winter. Uh-oh!

You know I suggested that, and to that he says " we'd have them talking". And that was the end of that. No he's about as nuts about Chevies as I am Fords. Would be cool though, except it would be harder to compete against.

I notice you used the word crazy alot talking about Bill.

Congrats on the win. It's fun to go pull in other areas against different trucks.

Dennis, after I made my pass the T-18 was/is stuck in 2nd gear. I have not taken the top off yet. Have you ever had one do that? This transmission was a used unit but looked perfect inside, that's but two passes I've made on it.

Yes he would!

I don't know on the tranny. Might just be a shifter fork or something like that.

My NP 435 gets stuck in 1st. There are some pins that have to line up for it to come out of 1st and some times they won't line up with the holes. When it does it you have to pull the top to fix it. I just don't use 1st gear.

Brett, I know what you mean about all the two wheel drives. Untill this year there was only 3 or 4 4wheel drives that showed up to all the pulls.
This year there have been 8 to 10 at all of them.
If you go north they all run 4 wheel drives and no two wheels, but there stating to let us pull if we show up with enough trucks.
As far as our rules go vauge is a very good word. They give you the rules
and you get to inturpret. I know at least one of the trucks that didn't show up last night runs iron indy heads on his dodge. And most of the chevy guys are running step gear trannys. No inch limit, one 4-barrel.
Pretty well leaves it open on motor. Two wheel class can run alum. heads.
and single four barrel. No tunnel ram. So if ya got a 600 inch c-head motor needing run just send it my way!!

They said there would be another one the last weekend of April to start the year off next season.
