Roll Out time estimated or calculated: Practice Tree R/T

Roll Out time estimated or calculated: Practice Tree R/T

Ive been playing with some Reaction Time Software here lately. At first I was red lighting like CRAZY until I changed the roll out. I really didnt know where to set the roll out so I called Bill and asked where he set the roll out on his practice tree. Bills car shortimes in the high 1.20s and he sets his roll out at .320 so I figured that would be safe for now. So Ive been hitting the practice tree with a .320 roll out and my average R/T is in the low .020s however my short times are 1.37 to 1.39, maybe I should move my rollout to .325 or .330? Now this is on a .500 Sportsman Tree. On a .500 Pro Tree at .320 roll out my reaction times are between .495 Red to .540s at this time.

Driver Reaction time is between .170's to .200's

This on a foot brake. Soon Im going to try the button.

You guys that have practice trees,

where do you set your roll out? I.e. what number

Whats your typical 60 times?

Do your tires lift out of the beams or move through the beams?

Do you shallow, mid or deep stage?

I shallow stage, my passenger side tire seems to move through the lights as its lifting, as far as I know. I need to video the front tires and slow down the tape.

Just curious, the practice seems to have improved my reaction times last weekend But I also wore my glasses instead of my contacts and Im thinking that may have helped some as well

Thats easy to explain. Your eyes are picking the bright light quicker at night, therefore your reacting quicker.

I try to leave at first flash. My best light was a .027 and worst was..... well we won't talk abou that LOL!!

After practicing at home, I'm much more consistent now and the lights are much better. BUT consider that I'm foot braking and NOT on a button AND my car seems to react a tick slower with the glide.

Last year with the C4 I went red by .01? on one qualifying run, one was a .012 positive and one was a .02 something. The C4 lifted the tires out of the lights quicker.

I'm anxious to get the button in the car and see if that helps with my reaction times.

Some people get slower at night. I have to really fight the tree after dark, some races my RT falls off .05. I usually do well in the daylight. But after dark I have to push hard.

So I wonder if these glasses would help us see it faster at night?
