After 3 rounds of qualifying, Colin is now 7th qualifier.
9.312 ET and 1.348 seconds under his index.

There are 2 other GT/AA cars qualified ahead of his 7th position.

It appears NHRA just posted today's update.
After four rounds of qualifying.
Colin has moved up to number 5 qualifying position, with a 9.289 (-1.371). The other GT/AA cars are just ahead of Colin in third and fourth positions. The quicker GT/AA cars ran 9.257 and 9.284 respectively.

Fella 460ford.comers, just got off the phone with Colin. Colin went to the finals of the GT/AA "run offs"! Although he ran a 9.28 to his opponent's 9.24, Colin had a "fine showing", and just fell short of the GT/AA class win! Colin explained both cars were pretty even at the start although Colin was edged out a bit at the stripe. Colin also explained that the weather wasn't cooperating as to premium performance, with corrected altitudes greater than 4000'. Colin and family are staying in Las Vegas for the division points meet next week. With a little "tinkering" and the possibility of good weather, Colin has his Mustang aimed at the NHRA GT/AA national record! Colin explained, "he believed he could run a 9.21", and if that happen's, he could have a grip on the record!

Sean Cour (#4 qualifier) damaged his engine. Frank Grossi (#3 qualifier)remains Colin's toughest competitor!

Congratulation to Colin for his great showing to date at Las Vegas, and I hope his week end is rewarding! Maybe the Ford Mustang with "385" power will be the last car standing and holding the NHRA GT/AA national record at the end of next week!

Oh, one other item! Colin did mention, if anyone has 10 horsepower lying around, mail it to him!

Great job Colin!
Dave.

**** UPDATE ****

As of SS Eliminations Saturday morning, at Las Vegas, Colin has advanced into the second round. Three of the GT/AA cars remain in SS Eliminations.

The remaining GT/AA cars qualifying order and qualifying performance.
Sean Cour's Cobalt (#4 9.284) Colin's Mustang (#5 @ 9.289) Cruzen's Cavalier (#24) 9.419

Sean Cour's team must have burned the "midnight oil"! Colin explained Friday, Cour experienced major engine damage. Their effort to repair or replace their bullet at least has paid off for now!

Hang in there Colin!

*UPDATE* 12 Noon (CDT) 11/1 *

Colin's second round competitor is Gary Hansen and his 1968 SS/EA Dodge Dart. I assume it has 440 Wedge for power.

**** UPDATE (12:35 P.M (CDT) 11/1) ****

Cruzen's in his '02 Cavalier, out in the second round.

Colin has just moved into round 3. Colin ran a 9.42. His competitor may experienced engine troubles near the stripe.

Saun Cour advances as well. His opponent fouled at the starting line!

**** UPDATE **** 1:30 P.M. (CDT) ****

Colin's next competitor, for the third round of SS Eliminations.

Darren Smith, current NHRA SS Champion. His 1968 Dodge Dart wears the SS/FA class designation. I think this is another 440 Wedge powered automobile. Darren qualified number 20, with a 9.761, -1.259 under his index, and proudly displays the NHRA Competition Number 1.

As it appears, Colin has moved into Sunday's show. I don't see any more Sportsman Eliminations today. Sunday's Eliminations are scheduled to start Sunday around 11 AM, Las Vegas time.

It looks like our buddy Colin was eliminated today in the third round by the current NHRA SS Champion, Darren Smith. Both cars ran near identical over their dial in times. Colin seemed a bit tardy at the line! Regardless, Colin you have done a great job. Keep up the good work, next week end will be here soon!
