Fella 460ford.comers, just got off the phone with Colin. Colin went to the finals of the GT/AA "run offs"! Although he ran a 9.28 to his opponent's 9.24, Colin had a "fine showing", and just fell short of the GT/AA class win! Colin explained both cars were pretty even at the start although Colin was edged out a bit at the stripe. Colin also explained that the weather wasn't cooperating as to premium performance, with corrected altitudes greater than 4000'. Colin and family are staying in Las Vegas for the division points meet next week. With a little "tinkering" and the possibility of good weather, Colin has his Mustang aimed at the NHRA GT/AA national record! Colin explained, "he believed he could run a 9.21", and if that happen's, he could have a grip on the record!
Sean Cour (#4 qualifier) damaged his engine. Frank Grossi (#3 qualifier)remains Colin's toughest competitor!
Congratulation to Colin for his great showing to date at Las Vegas, and I hope his week end is rewarding! Maybe the Ford Mustang with "385" power will be the last car standing and holding the NHRA GT/AA national record at the end of next week!
Oh, one other item! Colin did mention, if anyone has 10 horsepower lying around, mail it to him!
Great job Colin!
