*** The Colin Report (part 2) *** UPDATED 6:30PM 11/15 ***

Colin qualified #11 at the Auto Club Finals at Pomona Thursday. Made it through two rounds of eliminations, defeating Lee Zane in round 2. In the third round, Colin is dealt another "heavy hitter", Mike Crutchfield! Colin had the performance advantage, but Colin's red light was considerably worse than Crutchfield's! Colin's Ford 385 powered 2005 Mustang ran nearly as well as any of the competitive GT/AA entries. Grossi 9.33, Broaddus 9.337 and Colin's 9.348.

Good job Colin. Load that beautiful Mustang and be very careful while traveling home! Those Northern and I-70 routes may offer adverse driving conditions!

Dave,
Colin was the fastest qualified GT/AA at #11 with a 9.329 et.
Something different might have happened during eliminations though.

Randy, you are absolutely correct. Please accept my apologizes for not including that in my report! Frank Grossi was the closest GT/AA entry at #19 with a 9.359. In Colin's race against Crutchfield's number 2 qualified 2005 Cavalier (8.511/-1.289) the handicap starting system allowed Colin the opportunity to foul first, and that was the event that took place! I mentioned that Colin's performance during round 3 of eliminations was better than Crutchfield's, Crutchfield could have simply slowed intentionally although his 8.556 lap was not far from his 8.511 qualifying lap!

Any snow up your way this morning?

In an effort to redeem myself, I would like to post GT/AA qualifying at Pomona. It indicates the enormous effort that Colin has put forth not only the last three weeks but throughout the season!

GT/AA Qualifying (10.40 index) (The position is relative to S/S qualifying)

11. Colin Wigle 9.329 '05 Mustang
18. Doug Broaddus 9.349 '97 Firebird
19. Frank Grossi 9.359 '05 Sunbird
20. Robert Cruzen 9.36
23. Gary Stinnett 9.364
24. Tibor Kadar 9.367
36. Stacy McCarty 9.474
58. Dan Mason 9.746 '85 Camaro

Colin has become a very competitive entry, to say the least!

Good job Colin.
