Most Corrupt State

Am I the only one that finds it somewhat appalling that there is so much corruption in government that USA today publishes an article on it?
Hmm, I wonder when they'll publish one about the federal government?

I think it is ironic how they compare Il to Louisiana. Four out of the last eight seems a lot worse than Louisiana to me.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid-in-sideways, totally worn out, shouting.."holy crap.... what a ride!"

what I do find funny is how they are trying to spin that chicago politics and politicians aren't the most corrupt by using statistics to prove that ND is more corrupt. huh? it's a CYA piece but when you look at the raw data the claim is rediculas. ok per capita yes ND has a higher rate... kinda, but how about per politician? or just look at the raw conviction numbers, ok per capita ND has double what IL does but IL has 10 times as many convictions (502 vs 53) little hard to make the leap that ND is more corrupt when you notice that little number

Speaking as an Illinois resident, we probably are #1.....we elect some rotten people.

Maybe we have less convictions overall because half the judicial system is corrupt as well....

I have to say, though, that the problem is 9/10ths Chicago, and everyone outside of Chicago & its metropolitan area wishes it would fall into the Lake...especially since Chicago is where most of our tax money disappears to.

Although I'm the last to defend the Fed's for damn near anything, they are a boys club filled to rafters with crooks and Scoundrels. However, (you knew that was coming) - having visited and lived in many countries, all over the world, I have come to the conclusion that on balance; this one is not that bad.

At least they try to run a clean ship, as long as we have a free press - eventually the corrupt and stupid will get caught. The others become rich and heroic to their constituency. My jaded point of view has come to a compromise; I know they are going to steal... all I ask is they at least keep it reasonable. And do some time when they are caught.

Like it or not...death takes its tax...always!

LOL! I live in OH, and I'm not surprised one bit.
Wonder if they figure the court systems in with that? :?
