WELL, NOW THAT GAS PRICES ARE COMING BACK DOWN ----

Hey, guys: Saw this on AOL this morning, it seems that since gasoline usage had dropped off so severely (rememebr $4.00 plus per gallon) our poor federal government is feeling the "pinch" due to a severe drop in gas tax revenues (poor bastards - how do YOU like it). Now, some mental midget is urging a FIFTY PERCENT INCREASE in federal gas tax per gallon! No matter what happens in this world - we, you, and me ultimately wind up taking it in the ***! Have a nice day.

Some "lawmakers" are trying to pass a bill that taxes you for the amount of miles you frive, not for a percentage of each gallon of gas!!

As the world turns...I get more dizzy!

I don't know about the rest of the country, but up here in New York, "the empire state" (???????), we don't only have federal tax on gasoline, but state, county, AND city taxes on gasoline!!! If the feds raise the tax by 50%, the state, county, and city will jump on the band wagon and do the same! I just paid $1.70.9 per gallon (it's as much as nickel cheaper a few miles from here) - when the blood sucking oil barons decide to raise the prices again - let's say by - oh, maybe June, or July - we could be paying that $5.00 a gallon we've been dreading! We're screwed --- SO screwed!
