Anyone ever have skin grafts?

I have some skins grafts from when I dumped my CB750 (steering head bearing failing at 75 MPH = bad). This happened back in September. My skin grafts tend to itch now and again. Looks all normal skin color and healthy, no sign of irritation or anything. It's all been healed over. Skin grafts are up my leg (was wearing dress pants, they lasted all of 2 or 3 feet). Skin grafts just itch from time to time, driving me nuts at the moment. I was wearing a leather jacket which protected my torso much better. Got ground down pretty good on my shoulder though, but doc let it heal over. That itches a bit now and again too.

Anyone else have skin grafts or road rash/burns? Do you get itching? Does it ever stop?! It drives me nuts sometimes, other times I'll go a week without feeling anything.

Fell in a pit full of scalding hot water 20 years ago now.

Never did have any grafting done but later the doc said probly should have.

As of now no, the itching never goes away.

My belief is that nerve endings close to the surface get damaged and never heal correctly.

I have a couple hot spots that recur from time to time.

I use antihistamines and solarcaine lots of nights trying to get some sleep.

Have often scratcted till I bled.

Sorry but that is my experience. Hopefully yours dies down.
