Got a ? about my crate 514.

I have a new MSD dizzy. It has a mechanical roller cam part # M-6250-A514, do I need to run a bronze gear? The dizzy has a steel gear on it now. I also do not know the firing order. I bought the motor second hand, but it had never been put in a car yet. I have the paperwork with all the spec, but the firing order is not mentioned. Thanks.

Maybe if you see this Lem you can point me in the right direction.

You do need to run a Bronze gear if it's a roller cam. The firing order 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8

Depending upon WHICH roller cam material your cam is made from will determine which distributor gears are compatible with it.
8620 needs a bronze gear.
6150 or other through hardenable steel core, as a FRPP 514 crate motor roller cam is made from, can use a STEEL, (NOT cast iron), gear as well as bronze.

It's also a good idea to double pin the bronze gear
