Initially owned is not the point. No where in the constitution does it give the Federal govt power to do this- no matter how vaguely you want to interpret it

They tried it in the Soviet Union and guess how that turned out

USSA is here.

sorry, but this just pisses me off. Ignorance pisses me off also.

maybe I should just lock it, but it is relative to the auto industry. I am not a fan of chebbys, but I wouldn't wish this on my enemies. History, over and over proves that this doesn't work. Why can't people see this?

By the way. I am going to go measure for that speaker. I will pm you or give you a call.

Skosler my job depends on the auto industry mainly (some cat offroad, john deere, class 8 truck companies and harley davidson but mostly GM and Chrysler) and I was against the original bailouts back in Dec. Funny thing was the day after GM and Chrysler got the bailouts in Dec I got a phone call being laid off for almost 2 months (yeah that worked well) But if they had been told no back then and been forced into bankruptcy court it would be over and done by now. And no they would not have gone under they would have just had to reorganize and redo the business plan that isn't working and hasn't for 20yrs (yes unfortunately some union guys would have taken a hit too, but if it's not good for the ocmpany you work for it is NOT GOOD FOR YOU)
But all the government getting their hands into it to protect groups that donate large sums of money to them managed to do was drag out the pain and make more people suffer longer. I am back to work but at a 4.5% paycut, while some in GM are crying about being laid off while collecting 85% pay for not working.
So beyond just the illegality of government owning anything the whole premise of this stuff has always been and always will be a failure adn will fail this time but you will not get people to see that when they are getting free money handouts. They don't see the danger to the way of life that started back almost a 100yrs ago when the progressives started all this nonsense.

To quote a great neocon "It's just a God damned piece of paper". In any event , I agree 100% with you skosler. Too many people bury their head in the sand and are too afraid of irritating anyone to have an discussion about politics, or too "busy" to educate themselves. It's all excuses. Seems like people are afraid of having an intelligent political discussion anymore, maybe something to do with the maturity level of all the folks with their hand out. Wake up and smell the jenkum!

No, not really. When I was growing up I learned to work hard, not blame all my problems on others and not look for a handout. I didn't really have time to fight, now stop throwing stones
