Road course video with some data overlay

This is from an open track day last November with the Traqmate box, for which I recently obtained their video sync. software. Next time out I hope to have the tach. input connected.

I'd hate to be in one of those "lil turd snappers" when your freight train goes by.

Some people can break a cannon ball, in a sand box, with their bare hands.

NASCAR Track: http://www.infineonraceway.com/image...nascar_web.jpg

Full course as in the videos I posted includes the Carousel and uphill stretch into T7: http://www.infineonraceway.com/image...e_spread09.jpg

NASCAR lap times are not comparable, but speeds in certain sections are.

Here is Boris Said from a few years ago (before COT): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRWj248s93E

You will see his fastest speeds are 5-10mph above what I am doing in the videos I have posted, you might also notice the sync. does not seem to be so good on the TV stuff. I run a little faster (1-2 sec. per lap) when I am on the track with other race cars, as opposed to street cars, but I do not have any synchronized Traqmate data from a race outing yet. The NASCAR racers are pros for good reason. They stand on it harder than I do. You may notice I short shift before t12, but the NASCAR guys go flat through there. I tend to leave a little more on "the table", especially when there are walls around. The same applies in a few spots where I don't use all the track. Some have said that writing the checks makes one 3 sec. a lap slower.

Here is another clip I just posted, there is a lap where speed is almost as fast as Boris between T8 and T11: http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/5151144/13635072

The car has a lot more in it, but I do not get enough seat time. The car weighs about 3350 dry so with with me and a full tank of gas (32 gal.) it ways about 3750, maybe a little more, which I think is more than the NASCAR racers weigh.

Matt,

I am so exhuasted after going for a ride with you! It is always a real thrill to go for a ride. The old big block really sounds good. I bet the exhaust nearly blows the imports off the track. First time to see a 1967 Fairlane on the track. Did the Cobra have a small block or a street big block with stock running gear?

Keep the vids coming for this old 63 year BBF guy. They are so much fun.

Mike

Gear box in these videos is a G-Force GF-5R (dog ring box). I has been a good trans., but will likely be for sale as I am trying a different setup that enables me to put the shifter in a better location.

In second video I posted with the rear facing camera and different microphone setup ( http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/5151144/13635072 ), I think the Porsche that is behind me early in the run is this car ( http://www.theracersgroup.com/cars/car.php?id=60 ) or one just like it.

I'm not sure what is in the Cobra, but I will check if I see it again. The Fairlane is a nice piece. I think it has a 351 derivative.
