Same rules apply to the 429 as you would use on a 460.

What kind of build are you looking for? Street? Strip? Race?

engine build archive theres a build guideline (horsepower chart) i think its called, you can surf that, and see what kinda meets what your looking for, just allow that you are short 31 cubic inches.

Despite what you've heard, opportunity does not knock

You'll need to be a little more specific, what are you using it for?

Turn the snot out of it? I'm gonna guess that means you're already planning to use a 4.5" or larger bore, maybe cleveland or smaller mains, maybe some honda rod journal sizes, custom rods with short pistons which use only 1 compression ring, titanium valves and retainers with 1000lbs open pressure springs matched to a nasty solid roller, custom dry sump, remote water pump... or is that a little beyond the scope of the build? Does the snot start to turn at 6000rpm or more like 11,000rpm?

Like this, right?

If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.

Put a 4.5 inch stroker crank in 'er and a 429 sticker on the air cleaner.

Where's my beer and that half inch wrench?

I have to admit a 7000+ rpm engine sounds neat, at least until something breaks.
