Post Eastbound and Down!!

Homeward bound to Georgia from California. After spending the last two weeks with my father-in-law, it was time to get outta his hairs. (all two of them) Cleaned out his garage again. Took the scenic route leaving LA...I have never been to Las Vegas, so I drove through Las Vegas on the Strip, then over the Hoover Dam. Man is Lake Mead and the water at the Hoover Dam beautiful!! I have never seen water such a turquoise blue. Made it as far as Kingman, Az. All pooped out for the day. Let's see how far I get tomorrow!

I don't know about the water level since I have never been before. I did not take the tour of the dam. took long enough to drive over with the construction. Maybe I'll get the chance to do it in the future.

Water level? How many feet would you guess the white colored rocks were? (water staining) From the water line to the brown colored rocks? (old water line) That's how far the lake is down, some of my friends back home say it's 50 vertical feet down?

The 'SECURITY CHECK" had nothing to do with you or your "Little friend". It's more of a "terrorist" or "drinking and driving" thing... It's been like that for years now. were there any semi's driving over the Dam?

Isn't the white water line from when it was the fullest in the 80's & not it's normal level. When I was there last year they said it was down about 20 feet.

I know around 2003-2006 when we (south-west) was going thru the lack of rain fall.. Lake Mead, and Powell, were down about 50-80 vertical feet. (launch ramps high and dry) I've been gone for about 2years now and not sure how much it's down... or up?

I hope Dee can help us out????

WARNING!!! do not try to intercept "The Pink Flamingo". She made off with both my DILLON 550B's. Messing with could be verry hazardous to yo well being.

Semi's haven't been allowed over the dam since 9/11. Have to detour through Kingman, over through Bullhead City, then Laughlin to 95 north. It's a real treat in a big truck!

I'll check the pics later and let ya'll know about the water......"SECURITY CHECK"...ummmm...you have no idea what else I am carrying besides a lil old 9mm Glock. they would have **** several bricks if they checked back of my car.

Went to the Grand Canyon today. First time ever there. Was extremely beautiful. no pics could ever do it justice. now staying at a friends in Parks, AZ. had to use dial-up to access the web since i am basically off the grid, no cell service. in between two national forests.
