466 TFS Streets & 3800lbs= 10:26 @131.63

This past Saturday at Edgewater we finally got the Falcon to hook on those little 9" tires. When Charlie did the work on the heads and intake, he said that the car could run low 10's. 3 1/2 years later, a new clutch and front and rear suspension from John Calvert has allowed us to make Charlie's prediction a reality. I beleive that in good air the car will run a high 9 second pass. We never had any intention of making the car this fast, but it is waaay cool! BTW this was at the UMTR pro tree race, which we were lucky enough to win.

Congratulations on the big win Ken! Guys, if any of you have attended the last two Ford Bashes, then you've seen Ken and Wally Herbert's big yellow '70 1/2 Falcon, known as the "Phantom Falcon". It is an original 429 CJ car with a four speed. At the first Bash, Ken was here with his dragster and ran some high 4.60's with his TFS A-460 headed 562 unit.

Ken had approached me about finding another set of DOOE-R cast iron heads for this 466 engine and I talked him into the TFS Street heads, (and I'm glad I did). Therefore Ken is a charter member of the TFS Street Head Mafia. I ported his heads and Victor intake manifold, then Ken and I did quite a bit of wet flow testing with the manifold bolted on the heads. We took pictures, made measurements and learned quite a bit, so subsequent customers have benefited.

We're happy for you Ken, and tell dad Wally I said hello.

Thanks for the kind words. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I have been working some crazy hours lately.

KBR: The compression is somewhere around 12.5:1-13:1.

Sprayed Pony: Outside of 2 new Kirkey seats, no. We don't want to cut the car up because of its history, and want to leave the possibility of running the car in NHRA Stock or Super Stock. We had considered a fiberglass hood, but didn't know where to find one. BTW we added over 120lbs. of ballast to the trunk over the winter.
