Cool Video From Ford Rouge Plant

I found this video on the net and it's pretty cool. It shows Ford manufacturing the V8 engine starting with iron ore:

Notice the stout guys moving around those engine blocks and cleaning the castings too.

I read or heard somewhere that the Feds made Ford close parts of this plant because it gave them an unfair manfacturing advantage over other car companys notably Chevy. Dont know fror sure if its true or not but part of the story was ore came in one end of the building and went out the other end 18 hours later in a car

The Rouge

Saw a later film,1963,with the same format. My brother has a 16mm print of it and was shown out in the garage a couple of months back on a 10'x8' screen. They were building FE engines in that one.He also showed "1320 Feet",a great one with lots of Tbolts.I think Utube has this one.

Theres another one called "Your 1949 Ford" or something like that. It has the whole building process at the Rouge from start to finnish. Very Cool.
