Are there specialty catalogs for the 429-460 engines?

I've got Summitt and JEG'S and a slew of Mustang magazines but would really like to find a place that specializes in parts catalogs for the BBF? Do any of you guys that have speed shops put out flyers with specials or have catalogs?
Feel free to email me your website at [email protected] so I can show my engine builder some prices I have found on the net to compare to his suppliers!
Thanks, Troy 606-541-0193

I wish there was I haven't found any yet. Comparing catalog prices to what he can get them for isn't really fair as he doesn't get the parts in large a amount as say Summit or Jegs does and also probably has atleast 2 extra middlemen than they do to get the parts. Middleman=money. Some companies won't sell one part at a time so companies have to warehouse stuff and that costs money where Summit or Jegs has there own warehouses.

There is a catalog. It's www.460ford.com. All the parts you need are here. Just ask and I'm sure you will receive. If it was a new part, 9 chances out of 10 I got it from here. I also have bought many used parts here as well. The vendors add a LOT of knowledge to this and we should support them. Scan through summit, jegs, etc... Then ask the vendors here if they can provide the part. The number one benefit of buying from these guys is when you are opening the box and installing the part and you say "WTF!!!, Where does this go, What does this do, How does this work"... That's the moment you'll be real glad you bought from a vendor on here.

How's that for a plug guys?

So what you're saying is that you have investigated several builders, you have settled on one that you trust to build your engine...and now you are going to nickel & dime him to death over price differences which don't take into consideration all his Q&A, his expertise, his personal attention to your custom engine build, and his overall support, etc?

In my opinion, this is a classic example of downright poor customer etiquette. Naturally we all want a good value, but throwing the "big picture" out the window is about as inconsiderate as it gets when developing a relationship with your engine builder. Other builders may or may not post what I have, but trust me they almost all feel the same way.

^Yep^
One thing I know also is you don't build an engine overnight,so his money could be tied up for some time.My machinist is out to make money (but not screw anyone) so I pay for the parts up-front and get a little discount on the parts (less than retail).Everyone is happy,IMHO.
