The car has the 3.5 liter in it. I was going to do a little tune up on it, and change the spark plugs too. You have to take the damn intake manifold off it to change the plugs. Any of you guys ever changed plugs in one of these engines?

Alot of cars are like this. It is probably easier than it looks. I have not done this new of a 3.5, but the older ones are quite easy. It probably has captured o-ring style runner gaskets between the upper plenum and lower intake. If it has the style of fuel injector rails that are paper gasket sealed to the lower, then replace those gaskets also- common for vacuum leaks. You will have to contend with egr tubes, but they may at least be flange-fit to the upper plenum, no large siezed up line nuts. As much as I hate to say it, if it has Champion plugs in it then put Champion back in. But as far as required parts- Plugs, coil boots(wires), and an upper plenum set should be all that is required.

I wish she would get rid of it. It has other problems too, and she owes too much on it. I'll probably wait till summer (when its not -3 outside) to piss with it. In my opinion Chrysler quit building good cars back in 1970. With my luck, I would probably get everything back together and have a huge vacuum leak somewhere. Why cant spark plugs be "easy" to change, like they are in my Superduty's v10 ?

My wife wants a new Challenger, I told her if she got one she would have to park it out in the road because I don't want any Chrysler coodies near my Fords!

The only decent Dodge products are the Diesel 4x4 trucks, thats because the only part on them made by the Chrysler corp is the body.

Sorry I hate Chrysler I haven't seen anything decent from them since 1970.

There is a reason why Chrysler was, is, and will always be number 3 out of the big 3!! Try working on these things in a high volume shop and in comparison to other cars, I dont like them either. You start seeing trends.

the only way chrysler corp could get a small engine to hold together was to buy it from someone else- namely mitsubishi, lol. as far as what they engineered themselves- the 225 slant six was decent for what it was but anything smaller than that 225 was garbage. their v8's were ok... the 727 torqueflite was ok but the 904 was garbage...any auto smaller than the 727 that was engineered by chrysler corp was pretty much junk... jmo and experience, lol

just another dual quad 545 :-)
