Pump gas prices are starting to make race gas look cheap!

Getting my stuff together for this weekend's race....filled up the car with 91 octane at $4.00/gallon, then filled up a few gas cans with 110 octane VP race gas at $7.25/gallon.

I remember a time when pump gas was less than $1/gal and race gas was $5/gal.....it's interesting that race gas hasn't increased by the same percentage making it $20/gal.

Oh, and here's a link to a calculator that allows you to figure out how much race gas to add to your pump gas for the desired octane of your choosing.

Check........it is ridiculous....and I have to use 93 in my GT500. I remember putting 93 in my Mach for under a dollar a gallon. I worked at an airport and bought 100LL for I think 1.74/gal.....WTF?..D

Be glad you aren't in Canada.
91 octane is now around $1.60 per litre, which comes to $6.05 CDN per gallon or $5.50 USD per gallon

And be glad you aren't in Australia either.

I just filled up at $1.55 a litre, and premium was $1.75 a litre.

Yep, I've just started running pretty much straight LL 104 instead of mixing it 50/50 with the 91 non-ethanol we have here....it's only about $1.25 more per gallon for the good stuff at $5.25 then non-ethanol premium at over $4.00. Plus the car likes it and it smells delicious.

Quote from King Obama interview in 2006 or 07, before he was coronated by the sheeple:

"under my plan, energy prices will necessarily skyrocket...."

Completely ignored by the masses and the media.

Remember when gas was approaching 3.00/gallon under W and the media ran non stop stories about truck drivers parking their rigs, families choosing between gas and food, taxi drivers selling organs to fuel their cabs, elderly turning to meth dealing and prostitution to afford to drive to church.

Freaking hypocrites.

The really sad part is it doesn't matter if they are blue or red, the middle class get shafted equally by both.

I work in the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota, and we are hauling so much light sweet crude out of the ground, it could possibly sustain 1/4 of Americas fuel needs. Throw in the rest of the Bakken area....South Dakota, eastern Montana, northern Wyoming, and now parts of Colorado, as well as the oil fields in Texas and Oklahoma...and the U.S. could be 100% self sufficient, and get off our foreign oil dependency, and we COULD have cheap gas again!!

But NOOOOO!! our fraudulent government will not allow it.

As the world turns...I get more dizzy!

You're only paying $7.25/gallon???????? I'm paying $11.50/gallon for 110 for my boat up here!!!
I can remember back when I was 11 years old. My Dad had a Sinclair station that I would run for him in the summer and I can remember pumping thousands of gallons of 100 octane for $.25/gallon right out of the pump. The lower grades were like $.15/gallon.

E-85

Rob, that means that you are a old goat , that is why I switched to E-85 you have the best of both worlds, its good to 15 to 1 compression and its only 3.00 a gallon, and I know everybody says (there is too many downfalls to the fuel) well you know what Its great for me and I've switched a half dozen others over as well and none have switched back. I read the other day that the speculators on Wall Street, playing their games, are responsible for about 75 cents on every gallon we buy.
