1st track outing...

Went to the 1/8 mile track at Hertford, NC last night
( www.northeastdragway.com ) for fri test and tune. Got 3 runs in with a best of 7.100 & 98.224 mph. ( should be roughly 10.90's-11.0ish @ 120ish mph in the quarter?) Never even took the hood off the car except for tech. Not too shabby for the first time out since my big block swap. Got several items to change before I go back. Want to align the frt end, rejet the carb, swap to a 4.10 gear, air down the d/r's, and finish the N20 kit.....

Way to go :!: Tune on it and it will go quicker!

at 98mph in the 1/8 you should be close to the tens if not in the tens depending on your times, at 7.100 1/8 mile time then you would need to make up a little time on top end which is hard to do. Keep tuning :!:

thanks, planning on going back on Friday. I was pleased with the times since this was with exhaust, drag radials at 21psi, timing at 32 degrees total and god knows what jetting but it was rich according to the a/f monitor. With some tuning I think I can get it down into the 6.60's, then it's time for a small shot of go-juice

6.60's you'll need to run about 104mph in the 1/8. My old engine was running 6.50 to 6.60 at 104mph to 105mph with a 1.45 to 1.49 short time.

Supposed to be a wintry mix here in KY tonight and tomorrow

Good job Rick!

My first time out "best" was a 7.23 at (I think) 96 mph, so play with your timing, jets, and shift points, and you'll pick up alot I'm sure. Wish I could have been there. What is your engine combo?
