Any mud racers

I was needing some advice on what gear ratio to go with on a 150 to 175 ft. pit (not a bog). The truck is a full size f150 that weights about 4250#, I should have around a 900-1000hp to work with. ( c-headed 604cid).

Another big question that we would need answered is. What type of tires are you planning on running? Boggers, Cuts, Paddles, Scoops? Is this a Bogger only or will it see some street use?

I

I guess my question should be what kind of wheel speed should I shoot for with kind of power and length of the track. I will be running cut boggers 39.5x18x15 on the rear and 38.5x11.5x15 on front.

I would shoot for about 100 to 120 MPH Wheel speed. The faster the better in mud racing I think....

Could you fellas share your quick formula to calculate the wheel speed?

What imput values do you need to know: engine rpm, drive ratio, and tire diameter values to do the math.... ??

Thanks!
