Engine Mounting

This is in regards to weight distribution. I would like to know which is better for moving the weight back.

I have a 390 motor installed with stock motor mounts and stock transmission cross over.

Scenario 1:
Move the engine back, use a front motor plate and attach the plate to the original place on the frame where the stock engne mounts where before. Use the stock trans cross over, just relocated further back.

Scenario 2:
Move the engine back use stock motor mounts, just make new brackets further back on frame. Use stock trans cross over, just relocated further back.

As far as getting better weight distribution, which is better. This is for a truck. Thanks for any replies.

:? If this is strictly for racing the solid mounts are fine. If, however, you are going to run it on the street you will be much happier with the stock mounts moved back. :P

Isolation damper

If I use Scenario 1, with the front plate, I was still going to use a stock type isolation damper between the front plate and frame.
