I just dynoed my eninge this last weekend. This is going in a 78 Ford mud drag truck.
10.5:1 compression
C8 Head 2.25 intake 1.75 exhasut mild port
Cam Motion Cam 244 .550int 244 .550exh
1.8 Roller rockers
Rhodes Lifters
Dish Pistons
1.75 L&L headers
85o mighty demon
Stealth Intake
Duraspark Dizzy
[email protected]
514lb torq @4800

That's about right in the ballpark for that combination.
I'm presuming the Rhodes Lifters were needed to make a "vaccuum rule" limit.

I have to pull 17 in of vacuum @1000rpm. I think I could get some more out of it with a spring change. It seams to flutter a bit about 5800. We shimmed up the springs once and it was better but I think somthing like a beehive spring would be the way to go.

That's some good power and tq. :lol: You are about at the end of what is achievable for the heads and a hyd cam though. The DOVE's are known to lay down in the high 5K rpm area.

I am building a similar set up but am running a full roller cam set up with edelbrock cj style heads and a 1350 dominator any hp guesstimations?? 11:1 compression victor 460 intake and hvh super sucker
