always good to see somebody having a go at doing their own work. just remember most factory 460 heads don't need too much work on the intake port, but quite a bit on the exhaust, concentrate on smoothness ? of flow out of the port and for the first few inches of the headers. 2' plus for your cubes l

Don't get to crazy on the floors. I don't know if you will get those flow #'s with the smaller intake valves. Mine maxed out around there with 2.25 in valves. 8)

getting there, valve size is really to small, go bigger, going by your pictures i can't tell if your exhaust ports have a [emissions/thermactor?] lump in them if you have remove them completeley. top of the exhaust port is more important than the bottom. use your gaskets to line up heads and manifolds the 950 carby is probably too small. HAVE FUN

In a word, YES. A 545 needs a 1050 dommy minimum, even with DOVE heads. Been there, done that. We ran a 1150 on our 514 and it liked it.

Your existing manifold can be modified for the Dominator flange. Cheaper than a new one. There are several people on the forum who can do it, if you can't do it yourself. Charlie Evans being one of them. I wouldn't run an adapter myself.

hi, yes the 950 is probably to small, leave the intake ports slightly rough to help fuel air mixing, the exhaust port can be as clean as you like, what kind of exhaust system are you running

hi, your headers are probably just big enough, collector's could be 4" but run it with a 1050 carby and see how it works. HAVE FUN

You will be very suprised how much that cheap bottom end will handle....stay away from detonation though, and dont spin it to the sky.
