cam lift

If you have 2 camshafts with near identical duration, but one has @ .050 more lift than the other, how do they effect the engine differently?

A 285 is a big cam... Install height of springs may need to be changed due to lift... Check your bind clearance and pressures ....as far as direct comparison the 790 will have a fast ramp speed if I'm not mistaken.. More adverage lift... And should produce more power due to flow increase IF your heads are up to the challenge deepening on heads and their respective flow charteristicts........ It would be better to move this thread to the engine tech section as is a dyno/quarter mile verification page
