522 Done

Put together an engine for my 70 Torino. It was built to run on pump gas, planning on putting quite a few miles on it...

worked out better than I hoped 625 HP/670 T

Scat 4.3 Crank
Scat 6.7 Rods
Trick Flow Heads/ Air Gap Ported by HRD Racing Heads
Comp 1.73 Alum Rockers
Morel Hyd Roller Lifters
Q 950 Carb

Pistons and cam were ordered custom, don't have numbers with me.

I have a question on your combo? When using the 4.3 crank with the 6.700 rods, were was your pistons at TDC in the hole? In other words how many .000th was it in the hole at tdc using that combo (4.300x6.700) rods? Because iam using the same combo and was just wondering if this will affect compression and hp! Mybe one of the pros will step in as well! Nice motor by the way!

I cant remember how far, but I will check.....

Heads were ported, and intake port matched. They were done together at HRD, then shipped up.

how many times did you have it dynoed?

Looks like something funky is going on 4500-4600rpm

i made a linear graph using the info you provided (i would have done it on photoshop but my brother is sleeping and that comp is in his room). Anyways, i used graph paper under it and drew over it with a white sheet so its pretty accurate or at least accurate enough.

it looks like you lost spark or something and regained it and caused some kind of power spike.

if you remove that weird spike it seems your peak HP is closer to [email protected] and [email protected]

that TQ RPM seems to fall closer in line to where it should be vs. 4900rpm for a dual plane

also i cant remember the last time i seen an engine make peak tq and HP at the same RPM like that!!

also curious as to what cam youre running if you have any ballpark figures.

not sure if this helps much for reference but my build with a 533ci, solid roller 260/269 .655/.656, Victor intake, unported TFS Streets,1150 dominator and C6 transmission with 9in rear made [email protected] [email protected] with [email protected] in my 68galaxie

judging by the power difference between the first pull and second pull with jumping only two jet sizes i think 540rwhp should be attainable with mid 13's AFR's that its sitting at now (according to my wideband)
