Headers for AJE front suspension

Looking for headers that will fit my 429 with stock heads that's being dropped into my 68 Fastback with AJE front suspension.

I've tried Crites, aside front being a complete fabricated mess, this didn't come close because of the change in orientation of the rack and pinion steering. Looking at Hooker 6126 and they look like they might clear or might only need a bit of modification on one tube.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Okay, how about ideas for any 429 car wth auto trans and non-stock front suspension.

Thanks, Clint

Have you looked at FPA headers?? I heard that some of his fit with non-stock front ends. Also look at Sanderson headers they have a lot of different ones but mostly shorties. Good luck.

Are you still using your stock motor mounts?
If so, no header brand will be a direct fit. 6126 will not work.
Your best bet would be to go with 6224 and have two of the tubes on the driverside modified. I had to loop one tube around the frame.
I remember a tech from AJE telling me that any header brand will fit....fail.

Using the AJE mounts.

As suggested I found FPA headers that look like they might clear, but they're shorties so not my first choice.

I was under the impression from aje that you were to use 94 - 04 mustang headers. reason being the k member was styled after them. have you looked at any of those.

I've just been looking for anything that was 429/460, haven't seen anything designated for SN95 or S197. Have you seen anything for this?

Thanks for idea, just found Holcomb Motorsports, best possibility that I've seen so far.

Okay, searching as suggested above has yielded some great results, now my challenge is the proper primary tube size. I'm seeing 2" with 3.5 collector, is that sizing going to be okay on a motor that's not really built up?

Garage
Just noticed this thread..

I ran Tubular Automotive headers with my 460 in my 69 Mustang.

I was running a stock front suspension though.

Two of the tubes crossed under the back of the stock oil pan.

The tubes were all separate (could be installed one at a time) wiith a slip on 3.5 inch collector.

Best ET-10.36, 128 mph.

Race it. Break it. Fix it. Repeat!

Are you going to be making over 600 horsepower?
If not, the FPA headers will be neck and neck with the rest and will deliver more torque
2" is probably going to be to big. 1 3/4" is probably better for your build.
IMHO
