532 build plan
hello everyone and thanks for having me. i plan on building this engine in the near future and am very excited about it but right now i am still in the planning phase. this will be my first build and if all goes well i want to do many more
. i am just posting this build plan for all you 460 nuts out there to help me get the kinks worked out so i can start. i am looking to get around 800hp and spend no more than $15,000 on the engine alone. i want to eventually put the engine into a 69 mustang and would like for the car to look stock from the outside. i want to be able to put the car on a track maybe a couple times a year but for the most part i want it to be a reliable street car.
- 460 bored .080 over (sonic check)
- 4.300 in. cast-steel crankshaft
- 6.700 in. steel rods
- 10.9:1 pistons
- P-51 heads
- Comp 273/280 at 0.050 mechanical roller cam with 0.787/0.791 inch of valve lift ground on a 109 degree LSA
- single 1150cfm dominator carb
please let me know what you guys think and any ways it could be improved. i know there allot of different opinions out there and i am willing to give them all consideration. thanks
