Stock bottom , how much?

After doing some more research on my truck I found out that the current motor has less than 20k miles, built to stock specks in 05. I found a block recently and was about to get it built but really hate to at this point. So I changed some of my ideas on what I want to do. This will be a daily driver type. I'm guessing a top end kit is where I'm probably going with this now. Heads Cam ,intake, carb. I'm open to whatever. If I can attain anything around the 400 hp it will suffice. Any help appreciated. I'll continue to search the forums in the mean time.
Thanks

400hp is super easy with a 385 series. Just remember that if you end up running stock-uncut heads keep the lift under .530 to keep from hitting the seals. The bottom (short block) will handle WELL over the 400 you want. Look up builds on here, there is a thread on how to get what hp level, good reading. Read a little, ask questions and enjoy the monster torque with these engines! Good luck to ya.
