1979, F150, Supercab, short bed, roller For Sale

Update: Truck has a steering rack now and just needs to be installed.

Yes, this is my baby going up for sale. I have noticed some truck pullers and other mention how they would like to have the truck and the short bed sides has no rust!

The truck doesn't have steering but I plan on linking the wheels togather so it can be loaded onto a trailer and moved around.
The tires are pretty new
new master cylinder
new rebuilt driveshaft
28 spline mini spool
New raduis arm bushings
all lighting works
Plus the truck has hard to find trim that is in good shape!

It was also an orignal 460 c6 lariat. So it has factory 460 engine and transmission mounts.

Engine, transmission, radiator, autometer gauges and drag wheels not included.

I know what you mean about the reply. I would like to have it, just too far away for me and money is kind of tight. I posted a 1992 on here and didn't have one response.

It can be had for maybe less than you think!

I'll put it this way, the bed IMO is worth $600, now how much more do you think everything else would be worth? (They don't make shortbed exterior panels, yet they make everything else.)

Yup, the last time at the track the truck ran a 8.82 @ 75mph with a 1.82 60ft. Then the transmission lost 3rd! So I decided it was time to rebuild the engine and transmission. I was going to put a manual Rack (Mustang II) and I went ahead and sold the power steering. I was in the middle of fiquring out the geometery for the rack.

So the only thing someone would need is.

manual or power steering gear box with linkage.
Engine
C6

You would be going down the road! I'll let the MSD 6AL go with it.

Oh, it also has new brake calipers and (rubber) brake lines! I lost brakes at the end of the track at the first of the year and decide to go ahead and replace everything!!

I would probably put a 4b Cummins in it backed with a Ford 5 sp. Make a hauler out of it and get good gas mileage. I need that truck.

I was very interested until I read the thread. I love that style truck + that's the exact color I was looking for. But, my wrenching skills are something to be desired (Or not be desired, depending on ones perspective.)
With no engine, no steering, this is a trailer queen + barn project for me until the cows come home.
And, I still haven't got my current project able to run yet! I just can't simply figure out how to hook up the accessories to the 460. Nothing fits!!

I debated on putting steering back in, have the c6 put back togather and put the factory exhaust manifolds on. But I tried that once before! Tried to sell the truck and no one was interested. I had one guy tell me I was crazy, "that I was wanting salvage yard prices for the truck!"

I guess if it doesn't sell I'll just haul it off into the woods or maybe sell it too a Choctaw (Indian).
