?????

.... I assume you're talking 1/4 mile times. I may be wrong, but I think it would take quite a bit more than 722 horsepower to move a 2500 lb car to 7.80's, somewhere around 1020 hp would be needed, also to run 6.95 you would need about 1560 hp. So I don't see that 722 hp combination running those numbers, either that or your car weighs 1500 lbs, not 2500 lbs. If those are 1/8 mile times, well there is no way because then it would only be making about 230 hp without the bottle and 360 with it.

What is bad is if he hadnt put those numbers in there it wouldnt be too bad of a deal but when you post numbers like that it ruins your credibility. As he said they dont work out for 1/8 mile either. I would hope a 700 hp motor would run better than that. Hell, my 429 does and it isnt making near that!!!

WEll I can see about a half dozen things wrong with this post that would make me run in terror, first off he has extruded honed VIRGIN heads, sorry you have one or the other. Next his came has a crane lift with comp cams duration (read it that is exactly what he says, so which is it a crane or a comp cam?)
Next I don't recall of any stroke combo that is typical to get to 514 cid with a .060 bore, and I don't remember TRW making pistons for that combo either and basically trw is not really the piston of choice in a current race engine, Next he states it's a .010 under hardened crank, ok how was it hardened and most typically when you grind them you lose the original hardening, and next what crank is it? scat cast? stock offset ground? what? I didn't know Roush made a main bearing support kit for a 385 series engine. next who extrude hones a carbed intake anyway?
Next what compression ratio that it runs on 501/50 mix fuel (and thats not a good way to stay consistant.
And if you look he is saying polished and deburred rods which indicates stock rods... ON a stroker? ok maybe the ford 514 uses them but this just doesn't sound kosher all the way around to me.

I am sure glad you all got on here and evaluated this motor combo. I am not the smartest wrench in the tool box but have run ford big blocks and small blocks most my racing time and I got to tell you all those numbers put a big red flag up for me also but didn't want to say anything because I don't like to rag someone that may know more than me. the problem I was having was that I run the 1/8 mile tracks in the 4 state area around me and when I saw those numbers I thought "dang that's supper fast in the 1/4 or real slow in the 1/8th because my 355w in my maverick at 2600lb (without me) ran 6.82 and 6.48 with a 150 single shot. Now my big 557 raised the weight of my car to around 3100+lbs with the new tranny and rear end and some cage/chassie work and with out NOS ran a 5.80 which is about right because cevens told me it should run 5.40's in a 2500lb car. (he knows what I have in the motor). I only made 10 passes last year because of getting it out late and really have not did any real tuning on it, still have the same 1050 from my 429 and have been told need at least a 1150. Anyway I am glad you all verified my first thoughts about this motor he is tring to sell especially sence I was going to sell mine for around the same amount of money and I know what mine has in it and got most of my advice from charley and lem on the build. I wish he would read these posts and come back on and explain to us what he means or at least answer a few questions that have been brought up.
