This is not entirely correct - per the 2008 NHRA rulebook

"permitted" for super pro, pro and sportsman ET, super street

"must" for advanced ET (7.50 or quicker), super gas, super comp, comp, top alcohol dragster, top alcohol funny car, pro stock scooter, pro stock, funny car, and top fuel

no mention in stock, super-stock, or modified stock

What does "permitted" mean exactly. So, for a 10.30 car is no diaper is okay?

Permitted

"Permitted" means you can use or install the referenced item and still be within technical inspection compliance - But the item is not "required"

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. Lets go racing !!

I was hoping for a little better deal. I'm seeing only a 5% off the price. These people are going to make a killing for a short time. It's kind of like the muffler ruling and it seems to fade a way for that since flowmaster and dnyno max never had to pay for nhra winning becasue no one ran mufflers in any class? Now I can see the benefits from this for everybody. Becasue it will save cars, down time and maybe even lifes
